Complete (full) prosthesis

They are made in cases of total toothlessness. In comparison to partial dentures these are constructed simpler, consisting of a denture base on which the teeth are set.

Full dentures are located directly on the gums that covers the bone.

The base of the denture is a part of the prosthesis which adheres to the mucous membrane, made of a metal part that is very thin and of pink acrylic paint that fits into the surrounding mucosa. The base of the mucosa is made to be as big as possible. In fact, the forces that develop by chewing with artificial teeth in a denture must be transferred over the base to the mucous membrane and the bone surface. Since the mucosa is not able to withstand high loads, it is necessary that the forces brought by chewing are evenly spread on a larger surface, which is achieved by increasing the denture base.

Dentures should be taken out at least once a day and cleaned. A large number of people take them out before going to bed and place them in a glass of water or denture cleaner and thus extend its duration.
